Going with our slogan of being Avant-Garde, Tangulia Mara Camp stands as a bold expression of authenticity, innovation, and deep-rooted heritage. Entirely locally owned and operated, the camp represents a rare and powerful narrative within the Maasai Mara—one where the land, its people, and its story remain inseparably connected. In fact, Tangulia Mara is the only camp in the entire reserve that is one hundred percent locally owned and run, making it not just a destination, but a true embodiment of community-driven conservation and hospitality.
At the heart of this vision are the directors, Mr. Jackson Looseyia and Mr. Dominic Nchoe, both born and raised within the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Their lifelong connection to the land, wildlife, and culture brings an unmatched depth of knowledge and authenticity to every guest experience. What they have created is more than a safari camp—it is a gateway into the living traditions, untold stories, and evolving spirit of the Maasai people.
Choosing Tangulia Mara Camp means stepping beyond the conventional safari. It is an invitation to experience the Mara from its roots—through the eyes of those who call it home. Every moment, from guided game drives to cultural encounters and personalized hospitality, is shaped by genuine local insight and a passion for preserving both nature and heritage. Here, guests don’t just visit the Mara—they connect with it in its purest and most meaningful form.
Dominic Nchoe is a seasoned businessman with many years of experience in camp management.
